Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision in Tucson Claims One Life

Tucson, Arizona

A tragic multi-vehicle crash in Tucson claimed the life of 33-year-old Oscar Pedro Salazar on Sunday, December 7, 2025, according to a report from 13 News (KOLD).

The collision occurred at the intersection of East Michigan Drive and South 6th Avenue. Tucson Police Department officers responded to the scene after reports of a severe crash involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Ford Mustang. Despite emergency efforts, Salazar died from his injuries at the scene. The other driver involved remained on-site and did not sustain injuries.

What Tucson Police Discovered About the Crash

According to investigators, evidence showed that Salazar was driving east on Michigan Drive before proceeding from a stop sign. At that moment, he was struck by a Ford Mustang traveling north on South 6th Avenue at a speed well above the posted limit, police said.

Authorities determined that the Mustang’s driver was not impaired by alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. Instead, officers identified excessive speed as the major contributing factor.

No citations or charges have been issued as the investigation remains ongoing.

This tragic collision underscores how speed continues to be one of the most dangerous factors in Arizona roadway fatalities, even in broad daylight and non-impaired conditions.

A Sobering Reminder About Speed-Related Crashes

Speeding contributes to thousands of serious injuries and fatalities every year in Arizona. When drivers exceed posted limits, even by a small margin, they reduce reaction time, increase stopping distance, and significantly escalate crash impact forces.

Similarly, In multi-vehicle collisions like this one, the consequences can be devastating. This leaves families grieving and victims without the chance to recover.

Accident Justice Law PLC continues to urge drivers across Arizona to remain vigilant, obey posted speed limits, and approach intersections with caution to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.
